Whether you’re looking to expand your general cannabis knowledge or get certified to work in the cannabis industry, Cannabis Certified is designed to get you started! This New Jersey cannabis certification course introduces you to subject-matter experts from industry and academia to explore different elements of the NJ Medical Cannabis and Adult Use Market. It runs for five consecutive Monday nights on Zoom.
This 5-module course is offered through a partnership with Cannabis Certified and led by attorney Sarah Trent, CEO and Founder of Valley Wellness. Topics covered include cannabis laws and regulations, the history of cannabis legalization, the basics of cultivation and manufacturing, an introduction to testing labs, the endocannabinoid system, dispensary-specific regulations, and how to counsel patients and customers.

Each module consists of approximately 3 hours of video. Specifically, most modules contain pre-recorded videos that students can watch self-paced, in addition to a shorter live session where students can engage with instructors directly. New Jersey cannabis certification course students will access videos and course materials through the Cannabis Certified student portal after registering directly with the Community College first.
Requirements:
- This course is for individuals looking to enter the medical and adult-use labor market, or for those simply curious about the industry.
- Students must be at least 18 to register. Most employers will require you to be 21 years old and pass a background check.
- Tuition discounts are available for veterans.
- You must have the ability to download and access Zoom with an internet-connected device if you want to attend live; however, students can also fulfill requirements by watching lecture recordings and completing all five quizzes.
- Certificates will be issued upon completion by watching all lectures and passing five short quizzes.
